Home Sweet Home

As a “government employee” and full-time extern, I don’t actually get a fall break. I did get Monday off, as it is a federal holiday, so I decided that it would be a great weekend to spend in Morgantown, to both get some work and some play done at home.

Tropical Storm Karen was raging late last week in the DC area, and after two full days of rain travelers were eager to take their place in the interstate race that occurs every weekend around the capital city as commuters make their normal trek home and others seek to ditch the city for a few days. Four hours later, after witnessing both the breakneck speed and the trepidation of other drivers, I finally made safely it back to Morgantown.

This weekend I didn’t really do anything wildly original, but it was nice to see some friends and family that I have missed in my time away. Indeed, while I have tons of things to do when I get back, I can’t really say that I’m in a rush. Sometimes you just need to go home and enjoy the slower pace of home life.
