What is your favorite law school memory?

My favorite law school memory is all of the lifelong friends that I made along the way and our many, many Friday night karaoke sessions. In between study sessions, I vividly recall many nights where my friends and I would head to Sports Page to offer our renditions of Regulate by Warren G, Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler, and everything in between. Without those much needed breaks, I truly don't know if I would have made it through law school.

Who/what inspired you to to go law school?

My parents, Carol Gatewood and Scott Stephan, inspired me to go to law school. Growing up, I had the opportunity to watch my parents practice as attorneys. Based on the stellar examples that they set, I decided from an early age that I, too, wanted to be a lawyer.

Mom and dad, you had better watch out--I am returning to Pittsburgh with a newfound ability to argue!

Who would you like to thank?

First, I would like to thank my parents. I would never be where I am today without your love, compassion, and the many, many late nights of legal advice. Thank you so much--I love you both!

Secondly, I would like to thank my amazing girlfriend, Katie Murray. While we only got to know each other this past year, in that short time, you have made me a better student, future lawyer, and person. Thank you; I love you!

Third, I would like to thank all of my incredible friends. Thank you for putting up with my rants, the late night study sessions, and everything in between. Y'all are the best; especially you, Beau. Thanks for sticking it out with me until 6AM during finals!

Finally, I would like to thank all of my professors, especially Professor Lofaso. Thank you for all of the legal lessons and life lessons you taught me throughout my three years in law school. It is through those lessons that I feel I am leaving WVU Law in a position to zealously and effectively advocate for my future clients!

Thank you all. I would never be where I am today without your love and support.
