3+3 FAQs

If I am accepted into the 3+3 Program, will I be considered for a scholarship award?

Yes. All admitted students are considered for a scholarship award. However, a scholarship is not guaranteed. For more information, please visit our Financial Aid and Scholarships page.

If I join the 3+3 Program, will I be considered an undergraduate student for tuition and financial aid purposes?

No. Students who join WVU Law’s 3+3 Program are considered law students for tuition and financial aid purposes. This means they will be charged the same tuition and fees as all other law students. Please see our Cost and Residency page for a detailed breakdown.

Additionally, because 3+3 students are classified as law students, they are not eligible for any undergraduate scholarships or loans.

If I join the 3+3 Program, when will I graduate with my bachelor's degree?

It depends on the number of credits a student has earned prior to joining the program. However, students in WVU Law’s 3+3 Program typically graduate with their bachelor’s degree in August, after they have successfully completed their first year of law school.

If I apply and am accepted, do I have to join the 3+3 Program?

No. Students accepted into the 3+3 Program may decline their offer of admission and choose to complete their bachelor’s degree at their undergraduate college as originally planned.

If I apply and am not accepted into the 3+3 Program, what happens?

Students who are not admitted into the 3+3 Program may still apply for admission to WVU Law during their senior year. We recommend meeting with a member of WVU Law’s admissions team before reapplying to discuss how to strengthen your application.

What happens if I fail to meet the Program Requirements?

Students who do not meet the program requirements will be dismissed from the 3+3 Program and will need to return to their undergraduate college to complete their bachelor’s degree.
