Lew Brewer

Lew Brewer graduated from West Virginia University with degrees in History and Law.  He also received a Master of Laws in Labor Law from George Washington University.

Lew served in the US Air Force for 22 years as a Judge Advocate or “JAG” officer, retiring as a Colonel. He is the former Executive Director and General Counsel for the West Virginia Ethics Commission, working at the Commission from 2000 to 2009, when he retired from state government, and became Counsel at the law firm of Spilman Thomas & Battle. In 2015, he left Spilman to pursue a solo practice in dispute resolution as an arbitrator and mediator.  

Lew currently serves as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association on panels hearing employment and consumer disputes, and on an arbitration panel for the Public Employee Relations Board of the U.S. Virgin Islands. He is also a contract Administrative Law Judge for the West Virginia Public Employees Grievance Board, a Hearing Examiner for the West Virginia Board of Medicine, and a mediator for the West Virginia Human Rights Commission.
