Short-term individual counseling
On average, students utilize 4-6 appointments (sometimes less, sometimes more).
Group Counseling
We do not have any group offerings scheduled for the spring at this time.
However, Carruth offers several groups .
Community referrals
For specialized care, psychiatric care, medication management, comprehensive testing, and/or extended care.
A counselor can streamline referral processes between community and assessment providers, Student Health, Healthy Minds University, as well as on campus resources.
Consultation
- Students with very specific presenting concerns might be offered three consultation sessions. These sessions are designed to allow both student/counselor to jump right in and begin addressing the specific concerns, by offering solution focused interventions.
- Faculty/staff/other students with non-urgent concerns about a student should reach out to the Counselor.
- Faculty/staff/students with urgent concerns about a student should call Carruth immediately at 304-293-4431.
