Isiah Robinson

Jackson Kelly is nationally recognized for having more women associates per office than average, and they have one of seven firms with African American partners in Pittsburgh. Their commitment to diversity was one of the driving factors in my decision to work there.

The feedback provided was very helpful as I look ahead to completing law school.

Jackson Kelly hosted a series of events that allowed me to network with clients. They took us whitewater rafting, and hosted dinners and tours of clients’ places of business – they had a very thorough summer plan. My experience motivated me to consider working in the Pittsburgh area after graduation

If I were to give advice to a first-year student looking for a summer position, I would recommend putting out as many applications as possible, and researching each firm to identify their values and what they are known for.

My Legal Reasoning, Research and Writing course prepared me well for my summer work experience at Jackson Kelly, as it empowered me to research and write efficiently on the job.
