Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love PLLC was founded in 1920. The law firm has grown into a major regional firm, with six offices and nearly 100 attorneys. The firm represents individuals, professionals, organizations, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies from offices located in West Virginia, Kentucky and the surrounding region.
The firm has developed substantial practices in litigation, labor and employment, workers’ compensation, real estate, bankruptcy, taxation, intellectual property law, health care law, public finance, environmental law, education law, estate planning, and government relations. “Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love has proven to be a remarkably adaptable firm—willing to go where its clients need it to go,” notes WVU’s 21st President David C. The firm is a prominent mover in College of Law dynamics, counting among the ways they participate the following: the fine counsel provided by its members on our Visiting Committee and Development Council; the employment of our students; coaching Moot Court teams; and, the establishment of the Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love Annual Law Scholarship Fund, in memory of Paul Bowles. Each of these demonstrates the firm’s appreciation of the role of education in our state’s evolution and the vital roles current and future lawyers play in that development.
