BEFORE LAW SCHOOL …

I worked in the insurance industry as a workers compensation underwriter for about eight years. I worked for BrickStret Insurance and was a part of a wonderful company which afforded me the opportunity to learn true teamwork and leadership development in business.

Before working in insurance, I managed community centers in at-risk neighborhoods throughout Charleston, WV. I absolutely loved those three years of my life. Working with the young people of the capital city was truly a blessing. Lastly, my undergraduate degree is in Business Administration and I graduated from West Virginia State University in 2003.

WHY WVU LAW?

Its feels like home. I spoke with a few other colleges but after I sat through a Contracts class with Professor Cardi, heard a speech given by Professor DiSalvo on lawyers as leaders and then witnessed the attentive, friendly nature of everyone who either worked or attended WVU, it just made any other choice seem like a mistake.

Public Policy

IN 10 YEARS …

Ask me about the future and that is when my cornball nature will come out. I hate to nail myself down to one thing. I live life with the mantras of “we all have our own journey” and “write your dreams in pencil.” Life is open to those that are open to it. Hard work and a love for life will get me to where I’m “supposed” to be. Can I hashtag this thing… #liveyourdreams

OUTSIDE OF LAW SCHOOL …

I pretend to hit the gym hard on a daily basis… Yeah I said it! Now where did I put my Little Debbie Cakes?

My love is watching the theater of national politics and discussing solutions to the policy concerns facing us as a nation. I hope to one day be a part of this conversation in some capacity.
