High School Minority Law Day

The world needs more lawyers. Especially minority lawyers.

February 24, 2017

At WVU’s High School Minority Law Day, minority high school students are introduced to the legal profession and meet with law professors and students.

Meet Attorney Frank Walker

WVU Law graduate Frank Walker

Attorney Frank Walker is the founder of Frank Walker Law in Pittsburgh. He began his career as an associate trial attorney for the Allegheny Office of Conflict Counsel (OCC) in Pittsburgh, where he defended indigent clients that were unable to be represented by the Allegheny County Office of the Public Defender due to a conflict of interest. As an OCC trial attorney, Walker handled hundreds of cases ranging from simple assault to murder. Following the OCC, Walker joined a law firm in Pittsburgh, focusing on civil litigation and criminal defense. He then founded his own firm in 2011, specializing in criminal defense. Walker is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Walker earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from West Virginia State College (now West Virginia State University); an M.A. in Education/Leadership Studies from Marshall University; and a J.D. from the WVU College of Law.  As a WVU Law student, Walker was president of the Black Law Student Association and a recipient of the CALI Award (top student) in Trial Advocacy. As one of the top students in his class, he was admitted to the Order of the Barristers.
