Biography

Sarah E. Wagner is a Visiting Associate Professor at the West Virginia University College of Law.

Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Wagner served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia. As a federal prosecutor, Professor Wagner prosecuted criminal civil rights violations, white collar, child exploitation, and firearms offenses, and other federal crimes. She also served as the district’s lead appellate attorney and as the criminal civil rights coordinator.

Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Professor Wagner worked as an associate with Allan N. Karlin & Associates, where she represented clients in employment-related disputes, including discrimination cases. She also represented workers and their families in cases involving serious injuries and death, including the Sago Mine disaster.

Professor Wagner also served as a law clerk to the Hon. Robert B. King, United States Circuit Judge for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
