General Civil Clinic

  • Credit Hours: 7 credit hours per semester
  • Pre-requisites: Evidence
  • Minimum number of semesters: 2 semesters
  • Year of eligibility: 3L
  • Application Requirements: Lottery in the Spring; informational session on registering for the clinic held during Spring semester
  • Applications on a first come, first served basis to Marjorie.McDiarmid@mail.wvu.edu. All rising 3rd year students who are in good academic standing and meet the pre-requisites welcome.

Child & Family Law Clinic

  • Credit Hours: 7 credit hours per semester
  • Pre-requisites: none
  • Minimum number of semesters: 2 semesters
  • Year of eligibility: 3L
  • Application Requirements: Lottery in the Spring; informational session on registering for the clinic held during Spring semester

Land Use & Sustainable Development Law Clinic

  • Credit Hours: 14 credit hours
  • Pre-requisites: Professional Responsibility Preference for Land Use Law
  • Minimum number of semesters: 2 semesters
  • Application Process: Send cover letter or e-mail expressing interest in LUSD Clinic, resume and unofficial law school transcript to Erica Hetzel at erica.hetzel@mail.wvu.edu. Materials are due Monday, March 25th at noon.

Immigration Clinic

  • Credit Hours: 7 credit hours per semester
  • Pre-requisites: Immigration, either taken prior to or concurrent with enrollment in the Immigration Clinic
  • Minimum number of semesters: 2 semesters
  • Year of eligibility: 3L
  • Application Requirements: Lottery in the Spring; informational session on registering for the clinic held during Spring semester

Taxpayer Advocacy Clinic

  • Credit Hours: 7 credit hours per semester
  • Pre-requisites: Tax I
  • Minimum number of semesters: 2 semesters
  • Year of eligibility: 3L
  • Application Requirements: Lottery in the Spring; informational session on registering for the clinic held during Spring semester
  • Applications on a first come, first served basis to Marjorie.McDiarmid@mail.wvu.edu. All rising 3rd year students who are in good academic standing and meet the pre-requisites welcome.

United States Supreme Court Clinic

  • Credit Hours: 4 credit hours per semester
  • Pre-requisites: None
  • Minimum number of semesters: 2 semesters
  • Year of eligibility: 3L
  • Application Process: Send a 300-word statement/cover letter expressing interest in the United States Supreme Court Clinic, a resume, transcript (unofficial or official), a writing sample, and the names of one or two legal references to Professor Anne Marie Lofaso and Professor Larry Rosenberg at anne.lofaso@mail.wvu.edu and ldrosenberg@JonesDay.com. Materials are due Monday, March 25th at noon, although early applications are welcome and encouraged. We will begin reviewing applications on a rolling basis.

Veterans Advocacy

  • Credit Hours: 7 credit hours per semester
  • Pre-requisites: Evidence
  • Minimum number of semesters: 2 semesters
  • Year of eligibility: 3L
  • Send (1) a 300-word statement in the form of a cover letter or email expressing interest in the Veterans Advocacy Clinic; and (2) an unofficial transcript to Marjorie McDiarmid at Marjorie.McDiarmid@mail.wvu.edu and Kelly Parker atkparker5@mail.wvu.edu.
  • Materials are due Monday, March 25th at noon

West Virginia Innocence Project

  • Credit Hours: 7 credit hours per semester
  • Pre-requisites: Criminal Procedure is preferred
  • Minimum number of semesters: 2 semesters
  • Year of eligibility: 3L
  • Application Process: Send a 300 word statement expressing interest in the West Virginia Innocence Project and a resume to Professor Marjorie McDiarmid at   Marjorie.McDiarmid@mail.wvu.edu and Melissa Giggenbach at melissa.giggenbach@mail.wvu.edu. Materials are due Monday, March 25th at noon.
