Scholarship Notifications
The Enrollment Management Office notifies admitted students of scholarship awards beginning in mid-to-late January.
How Merit Scholarships Are Awarded
There is no separate application for merit-based awards. Scholarships are determined through a holistic review of an admitted student’s application. Primary considerations include:
- Academic achievement
- LSAT/GPA relative to the incoming class
- Leadership experience
- Community involvement
- Personal or professional accomplishments
Please notify the Enrollment Management Office of any updates to your application by emailing wvulaw.admissions@mail.wvu.edu.
Scholarship Retention
Unless stated otherwise, all WVU Law scholarships renew automatically for students who remain in good academic standing.
Bloom Scholarship for Incoming 1Ls
The Bloom Scholarship is awarded to a select number of incoming 1Ls and covers full tuition and fees for all three years, provided recipients maintain a 3.0 GPA.

- Minimum undergraduate GPA 3.0
- Apply to WVU Law by July 15, 2025
No additional scholarship essay is required.
