Each year, the WVU Hub establishes a cost of attendance for every student category at WVU. This figure represents the estimated total cost of pursuing a degree for the fall and spring semesters and includes all educational expenses a student may incur.

At the time of admission, all students are assigned a residency status for tuition and fee purposes. For additional details, please refer to BOG Academics Rule 2.4 – Residency Status for Admission, Tuition, and Fee Purposes.
A student’s residency may change for any of the following reasons:
West Virginia Loyalty Tuition Program
Non-residents who earn a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in West Virginia are eligible for in-state tuition at WVU Law through the West Virginia Loyalty Tuition Program. Students should indicate their eligibility in the “Loyalty Tuition Program” section of their admissions application.
Students who qualify for this program will have their residency updated from “non-resident" to “resident” for tuition and fees purposes.
Active Military, Veterans, and Dependents
Certain benefit users, veterans, and active-duty service members may qualify for in-state tuition rates at WVU. Please see the WVU Center for Veteran, Military and Family Benefits page for more information. Students must indicate eligibility in the “Educational Benefits” section of their admissions application.
Residency Reclassification
Students who believe they have a strong, well-documented case for a change in residency status may apply for reclassification. Additional information is available on WVU’s Residency Reclassification page, or contact WVU’s Residency Officer.
