United States Supreme Court Clinic
One of only 15 Supreme Court clinics nationwide, our United States Supreme Court Clinic assists clients with cases that reach the highest court in the nation. Students research and draft briefs pro bono, working primarily on criminal, immigration, prisoner, and civil liberties appeals.
Client Eligibility and Application
Taking a select number of cases each term, the clinic has itself participated in multiple cases that the Court has granted review in, resulting in two 9-0 victories.
Comprised of 8-10 students per year, the clinic is supervised by Larry Rosenberg, a partner at clinic sponsor Jones Day who has argued and won multiple cases before the Court.
The clinic’s activities aren’t limited to the Supreme Court alone. Students also participate in cases at other courts of appeal, drafting briefs and sometimes even participating in oral arguments following extensive preparation.
Of course, a clinic like this would be incomplete without regular visits to the Court itself. Thanks to our proximity to our nation’s capital, the clinic brings students to Supreme Court arguments regularly, with additional visits to other appellate courts throughout the year.
Your Support is Critical to Our Success
Help Provide Legal Aid
We’re thankful for our partnership with the WVU College of Law and for the resources the college provides to empower our work.
To complement these resources, the clinic also raises funds to fulfill our mission of providing top-level legal access to WVU students. These donations support clinic activities, such as its participation in appellate arguments and moot courts, as well as case research.
