Part of the College of Law Academic Excellence Center, the Writing Center helps individuals become better writers and offers an encouraging environment to discuss, refine, and experiment with writing and the teaching of writing. All students, faculty, and staff in the legal writing community are welcome, whether they are novice writers interested in building skills; professionals interested in becoming more adept, flexible writers; or professors interested in developing writing assignments.
Attention 1L students: You are required to schedule an introductory writing consultation to take place during the first two weeks of class. Use the sign-up sheets on the Writing Center’s TWEN page to schedule this appointment.
All students are encouraged to attend the Writing Workshop Series. Two types of workshops are offered—one type focused on writing style and the other offering tips and techniques for having an effective writing process. View the schedule and workshop descriptions here.
